What is a Model United Nations (MUN)?
A Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the organs of the United Nations. A Model United Nations faithfully reproduces the mechanism of negotiations of specific committees of the United Nations and follows their official rules of procedure. A MUN represents an important opportunity for young people from all over the world to better understand the functioning of the system of the United Nations and provides them a precious chance for meeting, competing and work together.
Participants take the role of the representatives of foreign country and have the task of negotiating and discussing the official position of that country during the simulation. In doing so, they have the unique opportunity to experiment what an international meeting is like and learn or improve their diplomatic skills.
